An El Cajon man was killed overnight in a collision between his motorcycle and a guardrail, according to a report released Saturday by the medical examiner’s office.
According to ME report, solo motorcyclist Joseph Evans, 57, was traveling on the westbound Interstate 8 ramp from the northbound State Route 163 connector when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail.
A passing motorist noticed the wreckage on the freeway and alerted authorities. Emergency crews confirmed Evans’ death at the scene at 2:15 a.m.
No additional vehicles were involved in the fatal crash. The collision is under investigation.
