The rain may have cleared, and now strong winds are headed into San Diego County.

The National Weather Service says a wind advisory will be in effect from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
During this time, areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected near the coastal foothills. The NWS says some gusts could reach 55 mph through and below passes and canyons.

The winds will develop late tonight, with the strongest gusts blowing through Sunday morning.

As always, the NWS warns that the strong winds could impact motorists and make driving difficult. Drivers should be on the lookout for broken tree limbs or downed power lines on the roadways.

In addition to rain and looming winds, the county experienced a high surf advisory Saturday. Waves and surf were between four and seven feet tall, with local sets up to eight feet mainly south of La Jolla.
