A van traveling southbound on Interstate 805 caught on fire Saturday morning, authorities said.
At around 9:20 a.m. black smoke and visible flames began stemming from the front of the vehicle on I-805 near National City.
Firefighters were called to the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. The occupants inside the van were not injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
