A cat named Sophia will be home for Christmas after being missing for seven years, the San Diego Humane Society announced Monday.
Sophia went missing from her family in Arizona and ended up in the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA over the weekend.
Luckily, a microchip was planted in Sophia and the humane society was able to contact her family.
Now a little older and lot wiser, Sophia will be flying back to Phoenix to be reunited with her family. The humane society and SPCA is making her return possible.
“I was shocked to hear that she was ok after seven years!" said Sophia's owner Trish Oster. "I didn’t know how I was going to manage getting her from San Diego. It’s the best Christmas gift I could have asked for."
