A fire sparked at a condominium in Lemon Grove Sunday morning, fire officials said.
The blaze began just before 10 a.m. in the 3300 block of Alford Street, near Broadway.
Heartland Fire & Rescue crews responded and were able to contain the blaze within about 15 minutes.
The family of three who lives in the condo told NBC 7 they were at church when the fire started. A neighbor smelled smoke coming from the home and called authorities.
No one was injured. The American Red Cross is assisting the family, who had just moved into the condo this past November.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. San Diego Gas & Electric officials are investigating the boiler inside the home because it may have been left on and unattended.
