San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is slated to make an announcement about Balboa Park’s Centennial Celebration Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement will take place at 3 p.m. at the Old Globe Theater. You can watch it live here on NBC7.com.
Besides the mayor, event producers and organizers will reveal details about the park’s 100th birthday.
Although the centennial isn’t until 2015, preparations have already begun. Most recently, the mayor removed parking spots from Plaza de Panama.
There is some uncertainty about funding for the centennial because of a dispute between the mayor and the Tourism Marking District.
