Detectives are searching for a man who allegedly stole more than $20,000 worth of custom jewelry from a car parked at Horton Plaza mall in downtown San Diego.
According to investigators, the theft happened on Apr. 1 at around 11:50 a.m. An unknown man -- captured by a nearby surveillance camera -- took a number of valuable rings, necklaces, earrings and watches from a vehicle.
The custom jewelry was inside a white and red Lululemon-brand bag that was momentarily left unattended on the front passenger seat of the victim’s car.
Police have released the grand theft suspect’s photograph (pictured above). Detectives are asking for the public’s help to help identify and locate the suspect.
Authorities describe him as a short, unshaven, 20 to 25-year-old man with a medium complexion. He has a normal to muscular build and was wearing a polo-style shirt with blue and grey horizontal stripes, a large silver and black wristwatch and brown dress shoes at the time of the incident.
