Friday morning kicked off the “Anti-Drone Days of Action” in San Diego.

The event is four days of workshops and protests organized around raising awareness about drone strikes.

A group called Code Pink participated in a rally outside General Atomics CEO Friday morning, with members saying the misuse of drones is creating anti-American sentiment in other parts of the world.

“We could produce drones that are putting out forest fires or tracking endangered species or doing good things. So I think we're actually accomplishing a lot as this month of actions begins,” said Medea Benjamin, the co-founder of Code Pink

Other demonstrations will be taking place across the country this month.

General Atomics released a statement saying, in part:
"General Atomics and its affiliated companies constitute one of the world's leading resources for high-technology systems. It also manufactures remotely piloted aircraft systems, which protect our troops and support national security. G.A. is honored that it can contribute in this way, while at the same time recognizing the right to demonstrate."
