The friend of Lakers forward Jordan Hill was accused of being drunk early Saturday and crashing Hill's Bentley into a condo complex in Marina Del Rey, the CHP said.

The crash was reported at 2:15 a.m. at the Esprit condominium complex at 13900 Marquesas Way, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash totaled the Bentley and caused major damage to a patio area of the complex.

Hill was not inside the car at the time of the crash, said Ed Jacobs, a CHP spokesman.

A man, identified as Michael Lacey, 26, was booked into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, Jacobs said.

There was one other person inside the Bentley when the crash happened, but it’s not known whether or not that person was hurt, said officials.

According to Idaho State University website, Lacey completed an "excellent basketball career" for the Bengal basketball team in 2011 and gradated with a bachelor's degree in sports management.

Lacey, who was pursuing his master's degree in athletic administration, was a graduate assistant for student support and served as the men's basketball academic advisor, the website said.
