Both directions of the Coronado Bay Bridge were shut down for several hours Thursday night due to police activity, authorities confirmed.
California Highway Patrol officials began blocking traffic at approximately 6:35 p.m., due to some activity happening mid-span along the bridge.
Officials requested assistance from Caltrans for the closure.
The SDPD and Coronado Police Department assisted in providing traffic control.
By 9:25 p.m., CHP officials had started the process of reopening the lanes on the bridge.
