San Diego police officers were called to help a wandering sea lion pup in Pacific Beach Tuesday morning.
It was around 3 a.m. when the baby sea lion decided to hide under an SUV parked on Ocean near Grand Avenue.
While not quite trapped there, the animal had no plans to move on.
That is until a lieutenant took a loop catch pole while a sergeant backed up the SUV. No doubt a maneuver they teach at the academy.
Success! The now exposed sea lion pup was easy to wrangle and nudge back to the beach.
The officers followed along until the animal made its way into the surf.
